ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jim Hamilton has worked in health care for over 50 years.  In his earliest years and education at Defiance College he worked as a medical technologist with a certification and specialty in clinical microbiology.  After completing his graduate education at the University of St. Francis, Fort Wayne, IN., he worked in varying health care senior leadership roles.   Organizations's where he has worked includes Memorial (Beacon) Health System, South Bend, IN., Luther/Midelfort Mayo Health System, Eau Claire, WI., Parkview Health, Fort Wayne, IN., Midwest Community Health Associates, Bryan, OH., as well as Caylor Nickel Clinic, Bluffton, IN.  In addition Mr. Hamilton has provided consulting services through Ambulatory Medical Management where he is President and Managing Executive.  Clients have included academic centers, large integrated systems as well as midsized to small rural hospitals and medical groups of varying sizes in multiple geographic locations in the United States.

 

Mr. Hamilton has had an extensive career in teaching.  University instruction has included Cardinal Stritch University, University of St. Francis, Fort Wayne, IN., Indiana Wesleyan University, Trine University and the University of Phoenix.  He has also authored articles in laboratory technology as well as varying business trade journals and communications.  He has been on the editorial boards for Orthopedic Practice Management and the Journal of Hospital Administration.

 

Professional organization involvement has included Fellow status with the Americcan College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE), member of the Medical Group Management Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, Senior Member of the American Society of Quality and American Society of Clinical Pathologist - Specialty Certification in Microbiology - SM(ASCP).
